Funded through the Vivensa Academy Excellence Award (awarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.imperial.ac.uk\/t.ellmers\">Dr Toby Ellmers<\/a>), this scheme aims to promote accessibility, equity, and inclusivity within the ageing research community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This award exists to ensure that talented researchers in ageing research are not held back by caregiving responsibilities, enabling them to fully participate in opportunities that drive career progression,&#8221; says Dr Toby Ellmers. &#8220;By removing practical and financial barriers, it helps researchers attend conferences, build collaborations, and maintain momentum in a highly competitive field.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Supporting these individuals strengthens the diversity and inclusivity of the research community, which is essential for addressing the complex challenges of an ageing population. Funded through the Vivensa Academy Excellence Award (awarded to Dr Toby Ellmers), this scheme aims to enhance diversity and inclusivity within ageing, balance, and falls research and to build capacity among the next generation of UK-based researchers working in these areas.<\/p>\n<p>The award provides up to \u00a31,000 per applicant. Up to ten awards will be granted.<\/p>\n<p>This award supports early- and mid-career researchers from under-represented backgrounds to present their work at the 2026 World Falls Conference, helping ensure that the field of ageing and falls research reflects a broader diversity of voices and experiences. Removing financial barriers to conference attendance, it enables researchers who may not otherwise have access to funding to share their findings, build networks, and gain visibility at a key international meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Supporting a more inclusive research community strengthens the relevance, creativity, and real-world impact of the science being produced.
