Lunch, sponsored by Bio-Rad, kept everyone fuelled through a packed programme.

The morning belonged to the poster competition, where students presented research spanning Brain Sciences, Immunology, Infectious Disease and beyond. In the afternoon, attention turned to the three-minute thesis competition – a test of how clearly and compellingly a researcher can distil years of work into just 180 seconds.

A general knowledge quiz dropped in mid-afternoon to give everyone a breather and an excuse to mingle, before prizes were awarded for the best posters and the strongest three-minute thesis presentations.
