Kenny Oniti and Claire Wade joined Imperial earlier this year as part of the Department of Medicine’s Operations Trainee scheme. The scheme aims to train the administrators and managers of the future by providing them with experience working in the central functions of a university department.

We caught up with Kenny and Claire to see how they’ve been settling in, and what their experience of the scheme has been so far.

International Pathology Summer School | Dr Mona El-Bahrawy

Dr Mona El-Bahrawy, Adjunct Reader and Consultant Histopathologist, played a principal role in the establishment and organisation of the 2018 International Pathology Summer School (IPSS), organised by the Royal College of Pathologists in partnership with the Egyptian Armed Forces College of Medicine (AFCM) and the ECPT. Dr El-Bahrawy is also the Country Advisor for Egypt for The Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) and President of the Egyptian Committee for Pathology Training (ECPT).  (more…)

Department of Medicine Postdoctoral Travel Awards | Deadline 1 Aug 2018

 

Applications are now open for the Department of Medicine Travel Awards. These awards are aimed at postdoctoral staff who do not have funding to attend conferences to travel and present their work. The Department has disbursed over £20,000 through the scheme, and this time it could be you! (more…)

The Department of Medicine sponsors three rounds of travel awards every year for PhD students, allowing them to attend conferences to travel and present their work.

We heard from two recent winners, Anjali Amin and Amandip Bisel, about their experiences attending international conferences with the help of DoM Travel Awards funding.
