Participants will work within a digital Research Technical Professional (dRTP) team at <strong>Imperial College London<\/strong>, <strong>King&#8217;s College London<\/strong>, <strong>UCL<\/strong>, or the <strong>University of Westminster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP-UP<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; a Strategic TEchnical Platform for University technical Professionals &#8211; is a UK-based research project funded under the UK\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/epsrc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council<\/a>\u00a0(EPSRC)\u2019s 2023\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/opportunity\/epsrc-strategic-technical-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strategic Technical Platforms call<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you gain<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build advanced technical and professional skills.<\/li>\n<li>Exchange best practices across institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Use placement time to bridge gaps between projects.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen future career opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You can apply if you are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A dRTP (i.e. working on research software, data or computing infrastructure) in any role at one of the four STEP\u2011UP partner institutions, or<\/li>\n<li>A UK\u2011based PhD student or postdoc seeking experience as a dRTP and not employed during the placement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All placements must occur within a partner\u2011institution dRTP team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>STEP\u2011UP provides up to \u00a315,550, covering 80% of salary and on\u2011costs, plus eligible fees such as visa or bench costs.
