{"id":7302,"date":"2026-05-20T10:01:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T10:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/early-career-researcher-noticeboard\/?p=7302"},"modified":"2026-05-20T10:01:55","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T10:01:55","slug":"dame-julia-higgins-collaborative-research-fund-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/early-career-researcher-noticeboard\/2026\/05\/20\/dame-julia-higgins-collaborative-research-fund-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Dame Julia Higgins Collaborative Research Fund Now Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ECRI are delighted to announce that the 2026 call for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/early-career-researcher-institute\/networks-events-and-funds\/ecri-funds\/julia-higgins-fund\/\">Dame Julia Higgins Postdoc Collaborative Research Fund<\/a> is now open for Imperial postdocs!<\/p>\n<p>Building on the success of the\u00a0previous\u00a0Engineering Postdoc Collaborative Research funding rounds, the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/engineering\/about-us\/faculty-leadership\/frc\/\">Faculty of Engineering Research Committee<\/a>\u202fas well as\u00a0Faculty of Medicine Departments are delighted to announce a joint funding opportunity for postdocs.<\/p>\n<p>This fund was introduced to give postdocs at the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Medicine the opportunity to apply for and be awarded their own research funding, develop and deliver a collaborative research project, and take a step towards becoming independent from the research of their PI.<\/p>\n<p>The fund promotes collaboration between postdocs in the Faculties of Engineering and Medicine, whereby funding applications\u00a0submitted\u00a0must involve a minimum of two postdocs from different departments.\u00a0To\u00a0facilitate\u00a0the interaction between the departments, networking events precede the proposal deadline.
