Applied improvisation develops the confidence, communication, creativity and adaptability needed to thrive at university\u2014helping you think on your feet, work effectively with others and respond positively to the unexpected.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll also develop <strong>executive skills<\/strong> that support academic success, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustaining attention<\/li>\n<li>Working memory<\/li>\n<li>Inhibition response<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility<\/li>\n<li>Time management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practicing applied improvisation can:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foster collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Build confidence<\/li>\n<li>Improve wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Give your brain a break and enhance creativity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you will learn:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why improvisation is increasingly used in science, healthcare, engineering and education<\/li>\n<li>Positive impacts of improv on everyday life and in the lab<\/li>\n<li>The communication and collaboration skills used by experienced improvisers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you will do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Try out some short-form improv games in a safe space<\/li>\n<li>Laugh, and have fun<\/li>\n<li>Celebrate mistakes and risks, seeing them as opportunities for creativity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No scripts. No acting experience. No pressure.
