Presentations That Sparked Critical Reflection<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our event began with insightful presentations from three of our students from the Master\u2019s in University Learning and Teaching programme, each delving into current and crucial topics:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Dr. Charlotte Kestner, Department of Mathematics: “Women in Imperial Mathematics: Why so scarce, and can anything be done?”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Dr. Catherine Mansfield, Department of Life Sciences: “\u2018We have learning objectives, not enjoyment objectives\u2019: The role of enjoyment in Life Sciences teaching and learning.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Dr. Camille Gajria, School of Public Health: “A stitch in time: How to support medical students developing practical wisdom.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The engaging presentations provided valuable perspectives and prompted thoughtful discussions among our diverse audience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Recognizing Achievement: Award Winners<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Following the enlightening presentations, we had the pleasure of celebrating the achievements of three individuals who were presented with awards for outstanding work:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Dr. Isabel Rabey: PG Cert ULT Portfolio Prize<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Dr. Marieke Peuscher: PG Dip ULT Library Project Prize (“Who belongs in the lab? Evaluating the determinants of belonging among biomedical science students.”)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Dr. Charlotte Kestner: MEd ULT Dissertation Prize<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      These awards were presented by Professor Alan Spivey, Associate Provost (Learning and Teaching), adding an extra layer of significance to the recognition of their hard work and dedication.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \u201cThis has been a very enlightening evening for me\u2026 it demonstrates the value of the MEd programme and the projects that come out of it. Over the 13 years of the programme running, we have seen many cohorts of highly qualified staff that have passed through this programme and that support the rapid progress in embedding pedagogical expertise within different areas of work here at Imperial.\u201d <\/span><\/i>\u2013<\/span> Professor<\/span> Alan Spivey, Associate Provost (Learning and Teaching)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

      Uniting in Celebration: Poster and Drinks Reception<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

      The celebration continued as we gathered in the foyer for a delightful poster presentation and drinks reception. This provided an enjoyable \u00a0opportunity for continued discussions and the chance to connect with fellow members of our academic community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
