{"id":243,"date":"2022-07-30T13:22:24","date_gmt":"2022-07-30T12:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/electrical-engineering\/?p=243"},"modified":"2022-10-10T19:41:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-10T18:41:54","slug":"welcome-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/electrical-engineering\/2022\/07\/30\/welcome-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome home: Circuits and Systems Alumni Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>by Wiesia Hsissen<\/h4>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1740\" class=\"wp-image-244 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/electrical-engineering\/files\/2022\/08\/IMG_6500-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Former students and staff at the CAS alumni day\" \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/electrical-engineering\/research\/circuits-and-systems\/\">Circuits and Systems Research Group<\/a> Alumni Day 2022 took place on Monday 11<sup>th<\/sup> July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This event \u00a0provided the opportunity for our CAS alumni to come together again and reminisce about their time at Imperial College, as well as meeting our current students.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">We were happy to see <span lang=\"EN-US\">so many familiar faces from over the years, even back to 1979 !<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Presentations were given by esteemed alumni to inspire current PhD students \u2014<span lang=\"EN-US\"> Dr Stylianos Venieris (Samsung), Dr Peter Pesl (Austrian Embassy), Dr Alastair Smith (Adder Technology Cambridge) and Dr Shane Fleming (AMD).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Current students arranged poster presentations showcase their work, and lab tours for our alumni to explore the latest innovative research from the CAS group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Thank you to everyone who attended, including our Head of the EEE Department for gracing our event.
