These topics are discussed with the aim of being informative to the bioscience-curious individual and of providing both the students and the public with tools to think critically about evidence and science.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_886\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-886\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-886\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/icpostgrad\/files\/2020\/07\/pic-3-300x227.png\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-886\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Recording session at The Pod. From left to right: Macia Sureda Vives, Dr. Richard Festenstein, Eren Akademir, Manos Stilianakis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Organising the activity are PhD students at the LMS, while other students are taking part as guests to pitch their own research in the segment \u2018Publication of the month\u2019. \u2018We thought this project would be a nice way to learn how to communicate science effectively, while networking and having fun at the same time. But also learning key skills that could help us with our post-PhD careers\u2019, says Eliano dos Santos, the PhD student coordinating the project.<\/p>\n<p>This science communication project is supported by the Grants, Engagement and Communications team at the LMS. And the voice of Dr Sophie Arthur, the Science Communication Officer at the MRC LMS and author of the award-winning blog <a href=\"https:\/\/sophtalksscience.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soph Talks Science<\/a>, will guide you through each episode.<\/p>\n<p>The first episode is expected to be released later this year, and from then on monthly talks will be available on the usual platforms.
