What everyone did agree on was that 2020 was not a good year for job seekers!\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In September,\u00a0I stumbled upon\u00a0an\u00a0opportunity to become a\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0test\u00a0facilitator\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0a casual worker for Imperial responsible for the running of the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/about\/covid-19\/testing-scheme\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">COVID-19 Asymptomatic Test and Trace project<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">. I quickly applied, keen to put my newfound (and extensive) free time to some meaningful use.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">A month after I joined, I successfully applied for the position of Test Facilitation Coordinator.\u00a0I am now responsible for the coordination of a fantastic team\u00a0of nine\u00a0test\u00a0facilitators,\u00a0and the delivery of up to 25 testing sessions a week, across five campuses, and seven halls of residence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I help to prepare test schedules, track the stock that we need to administer the tests, and help the test facilitators to deal with any problems that come up in the testing sessions. Some work does require me to be on campus, but I can also work from home.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The work of the\u00a0test\u00a0team\u00a0and the\u00a0contact\u00a0tracing\u00a0team\u00a0has been fundamental\u00a0to\u00a0keeping\u00a0students and staff who need to be on campus safe. Therefore, we are grateful that despite \u2018test fatigue\u2019, almost 500 of you put yourselves through a self-swab COVID-19 test, every day.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Together, we are (hopefully!) creating an environment in which you can feel happy and comfortable coming to work.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I love sports, and I really like learning new things. Over the last lockdown, I have traded in the gym for a pair of roller skates!
