I learned how different departments operated and how the College worked. This helped me in my next role, in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/equality\/support-for-staff\/equality-diversity-and-inclusion-centre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Centre<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I joined the EDI Centre as a temp and then became a full-time member of staff in 2017. I\u2019m currently a coordinator for the team and look after our communications and social media channels, training administration, and any EDI project coordination. I also organise <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/equality\/activities\/Volunteers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">events<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and support and coordinate our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/equality\/support-for-staff\/equality-diversity-and-inclusion-volunteers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">EDI volunteers<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I love how flexible my role is &#8211; every day brings a new challenge which I am always ready to tackle. I enjoy collaborating and working with different people across various departments and growing the presence of the Centre<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Most recently I was proud to receive the College\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/equality\/activities\/julia-higgins-medal-and-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Julia Higgins Award<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> for my work in helping promote equality, diversity and inclusion at the College. The award recognised my efforts in organising our annual campaign for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/equality\/activities\/women-at-imperial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Women at Imperial Week<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> over the past two years.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Week has evolved so much over the last two years \u2013 from finding different ways to engage with our staff and students (as activities have moved online) and making them feel valued, to raising awareness of the issues that they face. It was an honour to receive this award and be recognised for my contribution.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Looking ahead, personally, I want to travel more and explore new places, and continue to learn more.
