I\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">am responsible for overseeing and managing the smooth running of the entire portfolio of online\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">programmes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0for the School<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0building expertise to ensure the School is at the forefront of innovation in technology-enhanced education.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I lead a dedicated team to deliver approximately 180 online modules every year, including modules for our award-winning online Global MBA\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">programme<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and our MSc in Business Analytics.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Before joining the College in 2017, I worked as a designer and commissioning editor for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Epigeum<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, an\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Edtech<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0start-up and leading provider of online professional development for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">igher<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ducation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0institutions worldwide.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Before that,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I earned my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Otago<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and worked as a Research Scholar at Boston University.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">While<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0responding to C<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">OVID-19<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, we quickly\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">recognised<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">only\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">relying on\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">virtual lecture<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s was going to be unsustainable beyond the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">pring\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">erm<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and would lead to low engagement and satisfaction for our students<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. With that in mind,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we immediately implement<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0measures to assist faculty in enhancing the learning experience for the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ummer term.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> aim was\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">change\u00a0the approach to learning through the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> addition of structured, supported, social and interactive elements. We created a series of templates to scaffold virtual classes within a larger learning narrative, held <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1:1<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">consultations<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">our faculty<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and rolled out a weekly workshop series<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0&#8211; i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ncluding Zoom and media training and a masterclass in online course design.
