{"id":45,"date":"2021-08-23T16:55:13","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T15:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/?p=45"},"modified":"2022-08-18T15:14:45","modified_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:14:45","slug":"microsoft-teams-breakout-rooms-managers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/2021\/08\/23\/microsoft-teams-breakout-rooms-managers\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Teams Breakout Rooms Managers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During September Breakout Rooms Managers will become available as a feature in Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meeting Organisers can assign the role of Breakout Rooms Manager to one or more presenters in a meeting, either before or during the meeting.\u00a0 <strong>Only ONE person with the correct rights can manage breakout rooms at any one time.<\/strong>\u00a0 If Person A organises the meeting and assigns Presenter B and Presenter C with the Breakout Rooms Manager role then either Person A (the organiser), Presenter B or Presenter C can take control and run the breakout rooms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This feature will ONLY work in Desktop versions of Microsoft Teams.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What will the experience look like?<\/h3>\n<p>Organizers who will configure and manage Breakout Rooms on a Teams desktop client will have access to appoint Presenters as Breakout Room managers. Currently, only users who are named presenters from the same tenant are supported to become Breakout rooms managers.<\/p>\n<p>When Breakout rooms managers join the meeting, they will see the Breakout rooms icon in toolbar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-46\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2021\/08\/2021-08-23-Apply-Breakout-Rooms-Managers-300x236.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Breakout rooms managers will have to take control to manage rooms.
