Here PhD student Yuliya is working on the fascinating Multispectral Light Stage, which enables super high res photorealistic facial mapping for visual effects in cinema and videogames. The Sir Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub (BmE Hub) is an exciting new development at the heart of Imperial\u2019s White City Campus. Mohammed Zaffar from Security Services (pictured above) was keeping the gate house at our South Kensington Campus running for the important comings and goings that were <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/2020\/05\/14\/lockdown-and-beyond-at-imperial\/\">still happening during lockdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2021\/01\/140004_1400_test_covidempty_015_028_028.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"751\" height=\"500\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2586 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2021\/01\/04_1400_test_covidempty_015.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Image \u00a9 Thomas Angus, Imperial College London<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sean McGuinness (above) and his team played a critical role maintaining the campus. The lockdown had brought new challenges, including the need to keep flushing all the campus taps to avoid water stagnation and the risk of Legionella. Sean really missed motorsports, in particular the MotoGP and Formula 1, during lockdown.<\/p>\n<h2>April<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2021\/01\/140004_1400_test_covidempty_030_031_031.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"751\" height=\"500\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2589 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2021\/01\/04_1400_test_covidempty_030.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Image \u00a9 Thomas Angus, Imperial College London<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now into April and campus was <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/2020\/05\/14\/lockdown-and-beyond-at-imperial\/\">buzzing again with activity<\/a> to the fight the virus. Over at the White City Campus, Ahreum Jung, Invention Rooms Associate, was working on an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/news\/197240\/imperial-partners-with-trust-make-ppe\/\">Imperial College Advanced Hackspace project<\/a> to produce more than 50,000 disposable visors for the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Above, Dr. Jonathon C Brown and Ms Maya Moshe are both testing serum samples on lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) Kits. Imperial College London is leading a major programme of home testing for COVID-19 to track the progress of the infection across England.
