He has initially taken up the role at 0.2 FTE, increasing to 0.5 FTE from 1 January 2023.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reporting to the Associate Provost (Estates Planning), in this part-time role Professor Green will be responsible for leading Imperial\u2019s commitment to promoting sustainability across its campuses, engaging with senior leaders across the College to help facilitate appropriate and necessary practical and cultural change. This post combines a champion role for sustainability with responsibility for contributing to the development and embedding of the College\u2019s operational sustainability objectives, as stated in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/sustainable-imperial\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">College\u2019s Sustainability Strategy<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Professor Green joined the College in 1994 as Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and was promoted to Professor of Electrical Power Engineering in 2005. Professor Green has held many senior roles in the department and the College, including Director and Co-Director of the Energy Futures Lab. He will continue in his role as Deputy Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Professor Green\u2019s research focuses on the analysis and technology to develop a zero carbon electricity supply system that is able to accommodate variable renewable sources and new widespread electric vehicle charging while still delivering a cost effective and reliable service.
