{"id":84,"date":"2022-09-22T10:00:50","date_gmt":"2022-09-22T09:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/senior-appointments\/?p=84"},"modified":"2023-10-23T15:51:27","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T14:51:27","slug":"chief-operating-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.imperial.ac.uk\/senior-appointments\/2022\/09\/22\/chief-operating-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief Operating Officer \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Robert Kerse has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and will be joining Imperial in February 2023. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Reporting to the president, Robert will be a key member of the senior leadership team and the University Management Board. He will have responsibility for Campus Services, Estates, ICT, Finance and the Commercial &amp; Investment Activities Group. Robert will play a key role in helping to shape the development and implementation of the College\u2019s vision, strategic goals, objectives, and values. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">We thank Tony Lawrence, who has been covering this role since February 2022, and will continue to do so until Robert\u2019s arrival. We will update on the Chief Financial Officer role shortly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Robert has held a similar role at the University of Bristol since 2016, including being the senior responsible owner for Bristol&#8217;s new Temple Quarter Campus.\u00a0 Robert spent thirteen years in several executive roles within the social housing sector in London and the West Country before moving into Higher Education.\u00a0 He started his career training as a chartered accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, after being educated at the University of Cambridge.
