Professor Bob Brown<\/strong> and Dr. Luca Magnani<\/strong> are part of an ambitious European consortium working on breast cancer drug resistance and were awarded 2 EU funded PhD positions<\/a><\/p>\n

Professor Vivette Glover <\/strong>is giving the Victor Horsley Lecture at the annual meeting of the BMA on \u201cPrenatal mental health- how supporting the mother can have long term benefits for the child.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Dr Hector Keun<\/strong> just took part in a panel debate on \u201cHow life affects your genes\u201d (the exposome and epigenetics)<\/em> at the Cheltenham Science Festival last Weds, together with Prof Frank Kelly (Kings) and chaired by Vivienne Parry (OBE, and MRC Board)<\/p>\n

Dr Sadaf Ghaem-Maghami <\/strong>has been appointed as the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists<\/p>\n

Dr Luca Magnani<\/strong>, JRF working with Prof Charles Coombes<\/strong>, was invited for a talk at the\u00a0prestigious Gordon Conference “Hormone-Dependent Cancers\u201d\u00a0http:\/\/www.grc.org\/programs.aspx?id=13373<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Monica Faronato<\/strong> won the best poster award at the\u00a0BSCB Spring Meeting in Warwick with her work on DMXL2 (paper published 2 weeks ago)<\/p>\n

Scientists involved in Breast Cancer research met with breast cancer patients at an \u201copen-house\u201d event organised by Kelly Gleason<\/strong>.\u00a0The event was a great success and provided scientists and patients with an opportunity to engage directly and further insight into translational research and patient benefit.<\/p>\n

Ian Flindall’s<\/strong> abstract Structured cues or modafinil for fatigue amelioration in clinicians ? A double blind randomised controlled trial of critical clinical information recall in fatigued clinicians<\/em> has been accepted for an oral presentation in the 2015 Scientific Forum program and has been selected for an Excellence in Research Award for the category of Education.<\/p>\n

Dr Steve Brett <\/strong>had a\u00a0<\/strong>successful publication of a project which involved a collaboration between the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering and industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dame Mary Archer<\/strong> visited CSM and the new Data Visualisation Suite \u2013 11th<\/sup> June 2015.<\/p>\n
