PhD paid teaching opportunity – Climate Change (apply by 05 Sept)

The Grantham Institute offers an in person undergraduate I-Explore module called Climate Change – Science and Solutions, led by Prof Joeri Rogelj and Prof Paulo Ceppi.

We are looking for a PhD student to run and facilitate some classes in Autumn term on South Ken campus, Mondays from  4-6pm, likely on the 3rd, 10th, 17th of November.

There will be no traditional lecturing, as students will learn the material online, then come to class and give a presentation on the topics. The main tasks we will be to

  • provide feedback to presenting group on topic
  • steer discussion
  • facilitate group work
  • answer questions.

These are the sessions we are looking to cover.

Week 5 – How to halt climate change and anthropogenic GG emissions. Which sector contributes the most, climate budgets, global pathways.

Week 6 –  Decarbonising by sector. Energy, Industry and the Built Environment

Week 7 – Decarbonising Transport. Sectoral interlinkages, CSS and BECCS.

Week 8 – Scenarios, assumptions, carbon calculator.

We are looking for PhDs who can teach for more than one session. You will be paid at £26.35 per hour.
