Halcyon London International School, is based in central London, close to Marble Arch, We are in our 5th year organising an event for UN International Day for Women and Girls in Science. We are requesting research students to inspire our students in STEM. We are expecting an audience of 120 students (11- 18 years old). Our event will be on Tuesday 10th February 2026 3.00 – 4.00pm
This year for our event/assembly the focus is on Modern women in STEM, as traditionally we refer back to the same few women in STEM as our inspiration – we want to shift the narrative for inspiration that feels attainable. Modern women in STEM are working right now in fields students see around them (AI, climate tech, biotech, space engineering, data science). This makes STEM feel current and alive, helps students connect STEM to today’s real-world problems and careers and shows pathways that actually exist for them today.
We are seeking research STEM ambassadors as guest speakers – Your involvement would look like – talk about you for 5-8 minutes (see below) and answer questions put to the panel by Aspiring Halcyon STEM students.
-Share your STEM journey highlights
-Share your modern woman in STEM inspiration
-Share Why you support women in STEM
We are aiming for a panel of 4 speakers
