🚀 AI Collaboration Online Hackathon 2026

Students are invited to take part in an online hackathon focused on developing AI-powered solutions that enhance collaborative learning in STEM education, with an emphasis on inclusivity, ethical AI, and real-world impact.

The hackathon is beginner-friendly, and students from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to participate. No prior experience with learning analytics or hackathons is required. Students interested in AI, education, data, design, or collaborative technologies are all welcome.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore anonymised Learning Management Systems data (Blackboard and Panopto) used across Imperial and design creative, data-driven ideas to improve collaborative learning experiences for students and staff.

📅 Key dates

  • Kick-off session: 18 March, 13:00
  • Ideation form due: 26 March, 17:00
  • Technical drop-ins: from 13 April
  • Final submission: 5 May, 17:00
  • Prize ceremony: Week commencing 18 May (TBC)

👥 Teams can include up to 4 people, and students can register individually or with friends, no full team required.
