Nominations are now open for the Royal Society’s annual medals and awards programme. In addition to the subject-specific medals, there are two awards that recognise different types of contributions to scientific progress:
- The Royal Society Hauksbee Award is awarded for outstanding achievements in science to an individual or team whose work is mostly ‘behind the scenes’ or in support
- The Royal Society Research Culture Award is awarded annually to an individual or team for outstanding and sustained work in the improvement of the research system or research culture
The Society invites all scientists to nominate exceptional individuals and teams for these accolades. Nominations are particularly welcome when they recognise the achievements of individuals and teams from groups that are under-represented in science. You do not have to be a Fellow of the Royal Society to nominate or to be nominated.
More information can be found on the Royal Society website. Nominations close on Friday 21 February 2025.
