The Plant Health Professional Development Award aims to support those working in plant health and biosecurity by offering a free route to official certification and career support. Recipients of the award will receive:
- Free membership to the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) for one year
- A free application to the Plant Health Professional Register (PHPR)
- Access to a new mentoring trial to support their PHPR application
- Free access to the RSB’s Plant Health Professional Register Online Training
This award is part of the RSB’s expanded plant health professional development initiatives supported by Defra, with up to 30 awards available for 2026-27. The award is open to anyone who has been working in a plant health-related career for at least one year and is interested in applying to join the PHPR for the first time.
