Shooting a Nature cover

Shooting an object the size of a grain of rice, that only fluoresces by laser, inside a ring of sapphire, turns out to be tricky…

When Dr Cristina Lo Celso won the prestigious Foulkes Foundation Medal at the end of 2017 for her work with Leukaemia, we realised we were short of images of this rising star in biomedical research.
