Associate Provost (Digitally-Enhanced Learning & Teaching)  

Dr Sophie Rutschmann has accepted the appointment of Associate Provost (Digitally-Enhanced Learning & Teaching), with effect from 1 August 2025, for a term of five years.     

Reporting to the Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience), Dr Rutschmann will lead Imperial’s strategic commitment to digitally-enhanced learning and teaching.  

Dr Rutschmann joined Imperial in 2006 as a Lecturer in the Department of Immunology and Inflammation. She was promoted to Reader in Immunology in 2021 and is currently the Director of Education for the Department and Academic Lead for Digital Education for the Faculty of Medicine.  

Since 2014 her career has focused on teaching in immunology and postgraduate biomedical sciences, and more recently to developing digital education in her Faculty.
