About the OA blog and project

This blog is dedicated to Open Access and related scholarly communication and digital scholarship activities at Imperial College London, including research data management. It is managed by members of the Open Access project, a cross-departmental initiative that supports the transition to open access publishing at Imperial College. We will share updates about  of the OA project as well as news about what is happening outside of the university.

What is Open Access?

In short, Open Access is the free and unrestricted online access to outputs of scholarly research. As journal articles and conference proceedings are particularly relevant for scholars at Imperial College you are likely to read a lot about these topics here, but we are also interested in monographs, research data and other outputs of research.

For more information, take a look at the College’s scholarly communications website.
