Professor Sandrine Heutz has accepted appointment as Head of the Department of Materials with effect from 1 October 2022, for an initial term of five years.
Professor Heutz joined the College in 2007 as Lecturer Designate and Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow, and was promoted to Professor of Functional Molecular Materials in 2018. She has been the Imperial Co-Director of the London Centre for Nanotechnology since 2020.
Professor Heutz’s research is focused on the fabrication and advanced characterization of molecular thin films and nanostructures, and their application in spintronic, optoelectronic and quantum technologies.
