Professor Markus Perkmann has accepted appointment as Vice-Dean (Research & Faculty) for the Imperial College Business School for an initial three-year term, effective from 1 July 2023.
In this role, Professor Perkmann will be responsible for leading and enhancing the research strategy and culture of the Business School, as well as overseeing recruitment, development and promotion for academic staff. He will also work closely with other Vice-Deans across the College to foster interdisciplinary research collaborations and partnerships.
Professor Perkmann joined Imperial in 2008 as a Senior Research Fellow, and was promoted to Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2017. He is currently Academic Director of the MBA suite, a position which he will step down from when he takes up the Vice-Dean role. Professor Perkmann has made significant contributions to the Business School and Imperial in various capacities, including as Head of the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Academic Director of the Imperial Enterprise Lab.
His research focuses on science-based organisations and entrepreneurship, social valuation processes, and both academic and corporate entrepreneurship.
