Lizzie Burrows has accepted appointment as the university’s Chief Marketing and Recruitment Officer. Lizzie will lead the Marketing, Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions (MORA) Division, with the Outreach team having joined with Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions from 1 December.
Outreach has a strong strategic alignment with pre-enrolment, focusing on attracting students with the most potential, regardless of their background. Creating a more integrated approach will enable better support to prospective students and outreach participants, working towards our ambitious aims to diversity our student body and meet the challenging targets outlined in our Access and Participation Plan, under the Imperial Inspires pillar of our strategy. The Makerspace team, previously within Outreach, will move to best support the civic aims of the Centre for Societal Engagement, led by Professor Maggie Dallman.
An English Language and Linguistics graduate and award-winning Chartered Marketer, Lizzie Burrows joined Imperial in 2021 as Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, having held senior marketing positions at the Universities of Surrey, Oxford and Essex. Lizzie is a founding Director of UAT-UK (the Universities Admissions Testing company – a joint venture between Imperial and the University of Cambridge) and Vice-Chair of the CASE Universities Marketing Forum, as well as serving on a number of external advisory boards including the Assessments and Qualifications Alliance and IDP.
