Consuls

Renáta Kosová, Professor of Economics and Deputy Head of the Department of Economics and Public Policy, at the Imperial College Business School, has been elected to succeed Professor Ann Muggeridge as one of the Consuls for the Faculty of Engineering and the Business School, for a term of three years, from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2027.

The full list of consuls, senior consul and proconsuls for 2024-25 will be announced in the coming weeks.

Senior Consul and Proconsuls

Professor Jonathan Mestel, Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, has been reelected as Senior Consul for a second year, from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.  

Professor Liz Lightstone, Professor of Renal Medicine in the Department of Immunology and Inflammation and Consul (Clinical) for the Faculty of Medicine until 31 August 2023, has been elected as Proconsul for the period 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2026. 

Professor Martin McCall, Professor of Theoretical Optics in the Department of Physics and Consul for the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Education Office until 31 August 2023, has been elected as Proconsul for the period 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2026.

Consuls 

Professor Wisia Wedzicha, Clinical Chair in Respiratory Medicine in the National Heart and Lung Institute, has been elected to succeed Professor Liz Lightstone as one of the consuls for the Faculty of Medicine for the period 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2026. 

Professor Stephen Curry, Professor of Structural Biology in the Department of Life Sciences, has been elected to succeed Professor Martin McCall as one of the consuls for the Faculty of Natural Sciences and cross-College organisations for the period 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2026. Professor Curry’s term as Associate Provost (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) ends in September 2023.

Proconsuls

Professor Richard Jardine, Senior Consul (until 31 August 2022), Professor of Geomechanics in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, has been elected as Proconsul for the period 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2025. 

Professor Dorian Haskard, Consul for the Faculty of Medicine (until 31 August 2022), Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Rheumatology in the National Heart and Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine, has been elected as Proconsul for the period 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2025. 

Professor Terry Tetley, Professor of Lung Cell Biology in the National Heart and Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine, has accepted an extension to her term as Proconsul until 31 August 2023. 

Professor Xiao Yun Xu, Professor of Biofluid Mechanics in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and Director of the Graduate School, has accepted an extension to her term as Proconsul until 31 August 2023.

Senior Consul

Professor Jonathan Mestel, Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, has been elected as Senior Consul for the period 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023, to succeed Professor Richard Jardine. 

Professor Mestel is currently the Staff Representative on Council and a Proconsul. He will stand down as Proconsul once he takes up the role of Senior Consul. He had previously served as College Consul for the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Education Office.
