Nobody Canna Cross It.

Hey all,

We’re a good six weeks into the programme now and I figured I’d share some advice with you. When I arrived at Imperial, I had no clue what the UK labour market was like. I figured it would be quite similar to the one in Holland and did not give it much thought, since I was also trying to complete a maths and accounting primer. Anyway, apparently all major consulting jobs open their applications for 2013 already almost a year in advance. This means that if you want to work for eg. McKinsey in September 2013, you will already have to apply somewhere between September and November 2012. I suggest that you, if you were to be interested in such job, already take a good look at the CV module on Blackboard and really do some research on potential employers, deadlines and application procedures. This can save you a lot of time and stress, because the programme will be very intense from day 1.

Anyway, on a completely different note, here are some pictures of the last weeks in London:

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

1. People of London, why would you ever put a Dixie toilet there? You must be brave to cross this… Which reminds me of this video: “NOBODY CANNA CROSS IT” (click it).

2. The Queen’s Tower on campus.

3. Also very exciting, I bought new shoes, yay!

4. Close by the Business School, there’s an ice skating rink, beautiful to walk past by night, with all the lights and the museum in the background.
