Monika is a Capital Projects Programme Manager in Imperial’s Property Division. “I look at how our spaces at Imperial adapt and reflect our Science for Humanity and academic strategies. I focus on the benefits, interdependencies, and outcomes of  projects such as Carbon Net Zero, Silwood and the Great Environment.’

Sally Campbell, Safety and Compliance Manager in Central Biomedical Services (CBS), has built a career defined by curiosity, creativity and genuine care for people. Today she plays a key role in ensuring Imperial’s animal research is carried out safely and responsibly, but her journey began in a very different place.

An unexpected call

Sally began her career in 1973 as a research assistant at what is now Rothamsted Research, focusing on pea moths. Just a year later, the UK’s Health & Safety at Work Act reshaped how research laboratories operated — and subtly redirected Sally’s own career. (more…)

Abby Sanderson – Women at Imperial Week

“I grew up playing football, and back then there weren’t any role models you could watch in stadiums. So it’s nice to see how things have changed.”

A major sports fan, Abby has managed to turn her passion into a career. Being the Wellbeing Manager is all about how sport and physical activity support wellbeing. Abby works in the Move team, part of the Property Division, which encourages students and staff to get active. “My role is about encouraging people to increase their physical activity levels.”
