Dr Ileana Stigliani, Assistant Professor of Design and Innovation, Business School

“I completed my PhD in Business Administration and Management in Italy, before visiting top US institutions including MIT as a scholar eventually coming to Imperial College Business School, where I’ve been for around nine years.

In general, I’m interested in understanding how collective cognition unfolds in the innovation process, that is, I study how teams in organizations collectively develop new ideas and interpretations leading to successful new products and services.

I also teach management of design and design thinking to MSc and MBA students as well as qualitative research methods to PhD students. In 2016, I received the Imperial College Business School Teaching Excellence Award for Innovation in Teaching. In April 2018, I was included in the Poets and Quants’ List of “Top 40 MBA professors under 40”.
